- Beyond those 2 items, here are more tips that IT Services strongly recommends:
- IT Services recommends making sure your computer operating system and your browser are up to the latest version. NOTE: Some older Macs cannot install newer operating systems and must be replaced with new, supported Macs in order to install Respondus. Here are the recommended hardware requirements for Canvas.
To check your operating system on a PC:
- To check for updates, select Start > Settings > Windows Update, then select Check for updates. If updates are available, you can choose to install them. More information can be found here.
To check your operating system on a Mac:
- From the Apple menu in the corner of your screen, choose System Settings. Click General in the sidebar, then click Software Update on the right. Further instructions can be found here.
Update your browser (instructions can vary, but generally the instructions below are helpful):
- On Microsoft Edge, find and click on the 3 horizontal dots in the upper right corner of the screen, then hover over Help and Support towards the bottom, and then click on About Microsoft Edge. The resulting screen will either start updating your browser, or it will say that it's up to date already.
- On Chrome find and click on the 3 horizontal dots in the upper right corner of the browser window, then hover over Help and then click on About Google Chrome. The resulting screen will either start updating your browser, or it will say that it's up to date already.
- On Mozilla Firefox, find and click the 3 horizontal lines in the upper right corner of the browser window. Click Help at the bottom, and then click About Firefox. The resulting screen will either start updating your browser, or it will say that it's up to date already.
